I.M

Im Chang-kyun, better known as I.M, is the lead rapper, vocalist and maknae of the boy group MONSTA X. He debuted through the Mnet's survival show No. Mercy, under Starship Entertainment.

He was supposed to debut in another group in 2014 (Nu’Bility), but plans fell through in the last minute, since he decided to leave the group. I.M debuted as a member of MONSTA X on May 14, 2015 with their first mini-album "Trespass".

He made his solo debut on February 19, 2021, with his first digital mini album Duality.

In August 2022, he chose not to extend his contract with Starship Entertainment but will still continue to participate in the group's future plans. Later, in November, he signed an exclusive contract with Sony Music Korea for his solo activities.

On September 15, 2025 MONSTA X’s I.M has officially become a free agent following the end of his exclusive contract with Sony Music Korea. Since joining the label in 2022, he expanded his solo career with releases such as Slowly, OVERDRIVE, and Off The Beat, and completed his first solo world tour across 18 cities. Despite focusing on individual activities, I.M has remained active with MONSTA X, most recently joining the group’s 10th anniversary concerts and contributing to their latest mini album THE X. Born in 1996, he is the youngest member of the group. He started his military service on February 09, 2026 and is expected to be discharged on August 08, 2027.
